The John Hancock Center also known as The Big John is a historical building in Chicago, Illinois.  We had a great time in The Big John.  The building has 100 floors, but we only got to go to the 96th floor.  I learned that The Big John is the 3rd tallest building in Chicago.  It was once the tallest building in Chicago.

It was completed in 1969. It was the first building to have x braces. The Big John is a multifunctional building, this means that the building is not set for one business, but set for many business facilities. It includes 48 stories of appartments, 29 stories of offices, shops, a hotel, a swimming pool, an ice rink, and a resteraunt at the top of the center.

The Observation deck which is located at the 96th floor, gives one of the best views of Chicago and it's downtown area and Lake Michigan.  Besides giving good views the plaza at the entrance is a great place to get away from the bustling city. With a 3.5 meter high fountain drowns and muffles the noise of the traffic outside.
